I kept getting calls from this number twice daily. Sometimes it would ring once and then hang up. I rang back and it said I was contacted by Santander.

This is a genuine Santander number. I am speaking to them about a mortgage and when I missed a call from this number they sent me a text and an email directing me to the Santander site where all the details of my case are kept. I have been called on this
